Minister Cheryl Jeffries, the daughter of Eleanor Gibson and David Gibson, was raised in the nurture and admonition of the Lord at Rising Ebenezer Baptist Church, Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. Minister Jeffries attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Winston-Salem State University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English—Secondary Education. In December 2013, she received her Master of Education in Instructional Systems Technology with a concentration in Educational Leadership from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She is a high school English teacher in the Winston-Salem / Forsyth County school system.
Minister Jeffries accepted her call to preach while at Greater Grace Cathedral, Winston-Salem, North Carolina, under the leadership of Dr. Joseph Butler Sanders Parks. She preached her initial sermon, “Are You a Hearer or a Doer?” in June, 2001. From 2001 through 2005, as an associate minister, she served in several capacities including Sunday School teacher for adults and youth, Bible Study instructor for adults and youth, Worship Director, choir member, Pastor’s secretary, Executive Pastor, and founder of Women of the Bible monthly Bible Study group and annual women’s conference.
In April, 2005, Minister Cheryl Jeffries and her family were led to Word of Truth International Life Center, Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where Pamela Phillips is the Senior Pastor and Ron Phillips is the Executive Pastor. While there, Minister Jeffries served in several capacities, including as Associate Pastor in 2008.
In 2009, the Jeffries’ family was led to Love & Faith Christian Fellowship Church in Greensboro, NC, where Michael Thomas is the Pastor. Minister Jeffries serves faithfully within the following ministries: Deaconess, Minister, Altar Workers Ministry, Discipleship Training Ministry, and Visual Arts Ministry.
Minister Cheryl Jeffries is the author of three books, Tools of the Believer: 10 Ways to Beat the Devil at His Own Game (published in 2007), Tools of the Believer: Checkmate: Access Denied! (published in 2011), and Tools of the Believer: Exposed: Your Witness is on Display! (published in 2014). She is the founder of Tools of the Believer Publishing (founded in 2011), a company committed to excellence in the publishing industry and reflecting the philosophy established by the founder: Write the Vision, Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth, based upon Habakkuk 2:2, “And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.” In November 2015, Minister Jeffries launched the Tools of the Believer Weekly Podcast, and in August 2016, launched the Tools of the Believer Broadcast which can be heard weekly on The Light 1400 AM⁄96.3 FM (Greensboro) WKEW; 1340 AM⁄103.5 FM (Winston Salem)WPOL. Since 2008, Minister Cheryl Jeffries has conducted Tools of the Believer Seminars, Symposiums, and Conferences throughout the state. Her calling is to assist in tearing Satan’s kingdom down through preaching, teaching, and writing for the purpose of equipping God’s people.
Minister Jeffries wishes to share with others the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby (I Peter 2:2), for It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4 ⁄ Deuteronomy 8:3 ). She is married to her Boaz, Rufus Christopher Jeffries. Together, they have five children: Kevin, Koré, Jamese, Charlise, and Anissa. The Jeffries reside in Pfafftown, NC.
